Inland Waterways in Mumbai
After three decades of feasibility reports and discussion of the inland waterways which is about to become a reality in Mumbai. Due to the outbreak of the coronavirus in the entire world the service is on the whole world which also includes the trial run. Union minister of state is expected to start service after the proper planning and guidance from the Government of India. According to the proposal, it is decided that the inland waterways will have 12 rounds including Kalyan to Vasai which will be connecting the north-south to the east-west. It was expected to be started in May with the hovercraft but it got delayed due to the pandemic situation. Several private players are interested in running the inland waterways services with the collaboration of Mumbai Port Trust.
